DataTorrent ... It's NOWTIME! and YARN is pitching in.

Recently I was in a meeting with a Fortune 100 company discussing their Big Data strategy and one of the guys said something that I couldn’t agree with more … "You need actionable analytics data in real-time … “ to give real value to your Big Data strategy.

That’s where DataTorrent comes in … their saying is "It’s Beyond "Real-Time”, It’s NOWTIME.“ and from what I’ve seen so far, that’s what it is.  It’s an amazing piece of technology built by some amazing engineers.

DataTorrent is utilizing the YARN framework and really highlighting the amazing capabilities of what YARN is capable of.  I believe that YARN is going to be a framework used for innovation for a longtime in many ways, not just Big Data.  It makes highly reliable, highly flexible HPC available to developers with very little learning curve and price tag.

I look forward to seeing what the future will bring for DataTorrent and YARN.
